I love when I have repeat clients and I get to see how much the children have grown and changed. Remember this handsome little man? Well now he has a baby sister, and he is such a good big brother!! It was so fun to see him again and to meet little Vivi.

Thanks for looking!!

I was so excited for this session. I have had my eyes on this location for over a year now and when I was discussing our shoot with Kathy, she said how Julian loves trucks and their family loves old things….so I thought this was the perfect time to finally go through the official liability steps etc. to be able to shoot there!! I think it was sooo worth it! I love this location and how it looks in photographs, and more importantly I think Julian and Charolette had a lot of fun there looking at the trucks, machinery and big cranes! These two were so incredibly sweet and smart, I had a great time with them! Oh, and their mom Kathy makes beautiful vintage jewlery too….you can check it out here! I’ve been on a vintage kick lately and have been planning a vintage style shoot of my own family next week and can hardly wait!! Now….on to the beautiful kiddos….I have lots of favorites to share tonight……

Thanks for looking!!
I had a lot of fun photographing this beautiful family….here are some of my favorites from their session……

Here is sweet little Evan and his best friend “puppy”. I think it is so adorable when children become super attached to one specific stuffed animal or blanket etc. and take it with them everywhere they go. So it was perfect he brought puppy with for his photo shoot since puppy is such a big part of his childhood and will be a very fond memory for him in the future. Thanks for coming to play with me Evan! Here are some of my favorites from his session…………

It was so fun to see Adriauna and take her 2 year portraits while I was home over the Fargo Marathon weekend. She is such a sweet little girl, one of my favorites from my session is this photo I got at the end while she was running towards me to to give me a hug good-bye.

If you are interested in a session in Fargo/Moorhead while I am home visiting, send me an email urbanbphotography@hotmail.com and I’ll let you know the dates I will be there!

It felt like we had been trying to schedule a session with little Greyson since he was born! At first the timing/scheduling didn’t work out, and then the weather was against us….so when Mother’s Day came around and it was sunny and warm we were finally able to meet! I thought it was a great way to spend the afternoon. To top it off his grandma came along, who is his nanny, so I was able to catch some of their beautiful connection as well. Here they are together in a sweater that she made for him…so cute!!

They chose this one for a 24×30 standout….I love that this is hanging BIG in their home! I was just thinking of posting something about that, and then today I came across this from another photographer friend of mine on facebook, and it explains what I was going to say in a much better way than I could, and even has photos to illustrate!! Please take the time to look it over if you are in the market for photographic prints, either from me or someone else. I’m currently saving up and planning for my big collage and will post pics here when I have it all up!

It was such a pleasure, can’t wait to see you again Greyson!

Molly is the urban b photography senior rep from John Marshall High School for the class of 2011. I thought it would be fun to try some different locations and go up to the cities for her shoot. We lucked out and the rain stopped just long enough that day for us to do her photos! I had a hard time narrowing down which ones to share, but here are some of my favorites…..

Thanks for the fun day Molly! Looking forward to your next shoot! If you are interested in a high school senior session with urban b photography, email Kristi at urbanbphotography@hotmail.com. If you go to school with Molly have her hook you up with a rep card for a free set of wallets!!

One of my absolute favorite clothing websites is free people. I love their boho/vintage style of clothing and drool over their clothes weekly wishing a. I could afford them, and b. that I could be 21 again and wear their sundresses….they are a little on the short side for this over thirty (just barely!) mama. Anyway, they recently had a contest where people could enter in photos of their mom’s in their awesome boho style clothes from the 70′s. I was back home in Moorhead last weekend and dug through some boxes and found a couple of good ones that I thought would be fun to share here. She barely had any though, it would have been fun to see many more….I’ll have to try find my grandma’s boxes of photos next time I visit her. I love looking through old photographs, it reminds me of the importance of printing your photographs. With how digital everything has become it is so easy to put all of your pictures on a CD and on your computers, rather than print them out and put in albums. I am guilty of this as well, since my daughter was born have become very far behind on keeping up with her photo albums. But I thought, what if my mom had saved these photos rather than print them…now that I think of it that wasn’t really even an option, but if it were, the device she would have saved them on we wouldn’t even be using anymore…and when your kids go looking for photos of you when they are adults themselves, I’d be willing to bet they won’t be using CD’s anymore either. So here she is, my wonderful mother with my dad in 1972.

Thanks for looking! Enjoy the beautiful weather out there today!!
I was really looking forward to seeing Axel again and having the opportunity to photograph him. He lives in Colorado, and the last time I saw him he was just a baby. He was here the day that my SLR camera arrived in the mail. I had just taken my CT boards that day, I was so excited to be done studying for those and ready to take on learning more about photography! This little guy’s style and name fit him perfectly… I love his little serious looks….like he has a lot on his mind in between the goofy times! Check out some of my favorites from our session.

Thanks for looking!

I went up to the cities to photograph this precious little girl. She was overdue by a week or more if I remember correctly. She reminded me a bit of my little girl as a newborn. Isn’t she pretty?

I just love the way her announcement turned out!
I hope you had a geat first mother’s day Emily!!
